Lithium: The Little-Known Mineral for Mood and Balance

Here’s a fascinating story.

Years ago, researchers discovered a small town in Texas where life seemed almost too good to be true. Divorce rates were nearly nonexistent. Depression and suicide were unheard of. Families were thriving. It was like a real-life Shangri-La.

Curious about what made this community so different, researchers began digging into the details. What they found was surprising: the drinking water in this town contained unusually high levels of the mineral lithium.

Yes, the very same mineral once added to 7-Up soda decades ago.


Why Lithium Matters

Lithium is a naturally occurring trace mineral found in soil, grains, and vegetables. In therapeutic hot springs, it’s one of the minerals thought to promote relaxation. Even in small amounts, lithium appears to support:
