What Kind of Salt Is Best for You?

Let’s talk about salt. It’s something most of us use every single day, but have you ever stopped to think about the kind of salt you’re using? Not all salt is created equal, and some types can actually do more harm than good.

Regular table salt is usually heavily processed. It often has anti-caking agents and other additives, and it’s stripped of the natural minerals your body actually needs. Even some sea salts and pink salts, which are usually seen as healthier, have been found to contain heavy metals like lead. That’s definitely not something you want to be sprinkling on your food. There is currently a class action lawsuit against Celtic Sea Salt because of high lead levels, and this salt was previously on the "best of salt" list!

When it comes to choosing a better option, I personally love Jacobsen Italian Sea Salt. It’s clean, simple, and harvested from the Mediterranean. What I appreciate most is that it’s tested for purity and doesn’t come with unwanted extras. It has a smooth, natural flavor and includes trace minerals like magnesium and calcium, which your body needs.

Salt isn’t just about flavor. It helps with hydration, nerve function, and keeping your body in balance. So when you’re choosing a salt, look for something unrefined, free from additives, and tested for contaminants.

Clean, good-quality salt like Jacobsen can be a small but powerful way to support your health. It’s a simple switch that makes a real difference. I order mine here... ~Kimberly
